No CD Cracks For PC Games

No CD Cracks For PC Games
These cracks can be used to patch games such that they do not seek the CD while running. This can help to speed the game up or free up the drive for other uses, such as playing music. It also makes gaming more convenient since you no longer have to hunt for CDs to play the games you have installed. The Free Information Society has no responsibility for how you choose to use these cracks.

12 Ways to Promote Your Podcast

In some ways, creating and publishing your podcast is the easy part. The hard part is getting people to listen. In order to gain an audience you need to let people know you exist. Here are 12 strategies for making it easy for people to find your podcast.

Make Your Podcast Search Engine Friendly

The hardest part of introducing potential listeners to your podcast is making it easy for them to find you. There are two key ways people are introduced to new information online: they find something new through a link from a regularly visited site; or they find something new through Google. While you might exert minimal influence over who links to you by become pals with all the A-listers, you don't control whether people choose to link or not. One thing you control is the information on your site. First time visitors want a quick and accurate synopsis of video or audio prior to investing the time listening or viewing. Think of the accompanying text as the sales pitch that convinces a casual visitor your podcast is worth their valuable time. This text is also the information the search engine bots will see when crawling your site as part of the cataloging process. When someone searches on a topic related to your podcast, your page appears higher in the results if you have relevant text.

Create an Email List

Email seems counterintuitive to podcasting. Why would people subscribe to an email about your podcasts instead of just subscribing to the RSS feed? Because they either don't understand subscribing to audio yet or they don't want a bunch of audio filling up their hard drive. The podcasting and video blogging credo is giving people what they want, when they want and how they want it. Make reminders available in every format possible. If people don't want to subscribe to your RSS feed yet, so what. Offer an email subscription so they know when you post something new. Free services like Bloglet and Feedblitz handle the publishing hassle so you can concentrate on your podcast.

Press Releases

Press releases are seen as old media notification tools, but they still work. If there's an interesting angle in one episode of your podcast, write up 300-500 words about it and submit the release to free press release services like and I-Newswire. Events like your 100th episode, annual anniversary, interviews with interesting people or upcoming contests are all compelling reasons to send out a press release.

Subscribe to Your Podcast

I'm not kidding. Subscribe to your podcast in Odeo, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Google Reader, Bloglines and any other online service you can think of. Some of them won't support the audio enclosures, but that's not the point. If the service has one customer subscribed to a feed, the service knows that feed exists, which means your feed is indexed by that service. You don't have control over which service or applications your listeners choose, but you can make it easier to find your podcast within those services by subscribing to it.

Tag Your Text

Tags are a hot topic in generating traffic. Search sites like IceRocket and Technorati use tags to help generate meaningful search results. To associate your podcast with specific tags, you never need to visit these services. Tags are added in the text description associated with your podcast. For instance, if you have a podcast about cooking and in one episode you talk about making clam chowder, include tag links related to your topic in the post. The links look something like this:

<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/cooking" rel="tag">cooking</a>

<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/clam+chowder" rel="tag">clam chowder</a>

The rel="tag" designation is what tells search engines that link is a tag. For two word tags, using the '+' sign designates a space. The link can technically go anywhere, like the Wikipedia entry on clam chowder and still be seen as a tag by search engines like IceRocket and Technorati.
Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is related to the concept of tagging. If you ever tag your photos with keywords on flickr or archive posts on del.icio.us, you are already familiar with the concept. Like tagging, you assign keywords to a particular URL. The big difference is you do it within the constraints of a service. To continue with the clam chowder example, you log into del.icio.us and add a link to the page (not the media file) where your podcast is linked for download. You then associate keywords like 'clamchowder', 'soup' and 'cooking' with that page. People who search del.icio.us can see all the links to things tagged 'clamchowder' by everyone who uses del.icio.us and find your podcast in the list of tags.

Interview Interesting People

Interview people in the topic area of your podcast. If you do a music show, reserve a few minutes of every show to interview one of the artists featured on the show. When you post the show, send a link to the person you interviewed and encourage them to link to it from their own Website or blog. Other people in the interviewee's circle of influence will find out about your podcast and come check you out.

Comment on Other Podcasts and Blogs

If someone else covers a topic related to your podcast, comment on what they are saying either in their comments or in your podcast. Mention in the text synopsis of your podcast that you talked about what The Cooking Blog had to say about making clam chowder on your clam chowder episode and link back to their post about clam chowder. Participating in forums related to your topic is also closely related to commenting.

Guest Blog on Related Sites

You are already spending time talking about your favorite subject in your podcast, but a whole universe of people don't know you exist. If there are bloggers who write about your topic, offer to guest blog when they need a break or want to go on vacation.

Affiliate with a Network

Some of the early successes in podcasting are the result of network affiliations. Certainly, the show I produce, The Chris Pirillo Show, benefits from Chris's Lockergnome network. Engadget's podcast became popular with the help of a large Weblogs, Inc readership. Something more informal works too. Identify a group of bloggers, podcasters and video bloggers all talking about related topics and arrive at a way to team up and drive traffic to each other's efforts.

Build Relationships with Listeners

While listening to audio is technically a one way communication, encouraging and incorporating listener feedback in your show creates a sense of community. Actively solicit feedback from listeners by providing ways to call and leave messages or send email feedback. If you get email raves, read them during your podcast. If you get questions from listeners, answer them during your podcast when appropriate.

Get Listed in Directories

Don't limit yourself to podcast directories. Since you're now adding value to your RSS feed by creating meaningful text posts to accompany the audio, submit your feeds to every RSS and blog directory you can find. Robin Good offers a solid list of 55 places to submit your feed.

Some of the popular podcast directories include:

Manventions: The 10 Inventions Men Demand

I love inventors. They bring us all the cool stuff…like iPods and…chairs…and toilets. Pretty cool, right? But most inventions seem to be geared towards solving the ills of society at large. And that's cool and all, but all these inventors are missing out on a key demographic–men. Hey, eggheads, you know what? Us guys have some ideas for stuff you should invent, too. They're called Manventions…Ok?

#1) Edible Beer Bottles

This is the number one invention that men demand. Beer and food go together like watching Joan Rivers and committing suicide. So what's better than bringing the food TO the beer...with edible beer bottles. Each kind of beer would have a different flavored bottle--German beers would taste like sausage, Pabst Blue Ribbon would taste like pretzels--and the edible bottle glass should taste good cold (if you eat the bottle as you drink) or warm (if you wait until the bottle's empty). Scientists? Get on this...

#2) Porn Toilet Paper

Continuing in the "combining two things that go together theme," I bring you the number two manvention...porn toilet paper. Fact A: men like to service the old dumwaiter while sitting on the toilet. Fact B: keeping old porn magazines around the house is not only embarrassing but also, once they've been "used" for over a week or so, pointless. So toilet paper geniuses, here's what us guys demand--start printing porno onto the tp for our bung holes. That way we can check out the porno, clean up, take a crap and be done with it. S'alright? S'alright.
#3) Inter-Office Exercise Equipment

Remember when you could look down and still see your penis? Well, five plus years of sitting on your ass entering numbers into spreadsheets has added a fleshy, hairy deck to that view. But what if, during your down time at the office, you could be working out from the comfort of your own office chair? Enter Manvention #3. Swivel chairs that fold back to become a free-weight bench, a chin-up bar attached to your desk's credenza and a copy machine/printer/stair-master combo system should round out your cubicle workout. Science people, make this NOW so we can work off our man-teats.

#4) Insta beard

When it comes to having a beard, the old adage is true: "you're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't;" having a beard is bad-ass, but most chicks (and employers) hate them. So what's a badassitude-seeking guy to do? Well, if these damned scientists would listen to us, you'd be able to bust out a bottle of Insta Beard and paint one on. Insta Beard is a bottle filled with real facial hair and a temporary adhesive that lasts just as long as you need a beard. Got a lunch meeting with an old college buddy? Roll-on some Insta Beard so he doesn't think you've gone all "soft" and "corporate," but take solace in the fact that by the time you slink back into your soft and corporate office chair, the Insta Beard will have dissolved already. Nerds...start doing your calculations for the glue mixture...let's make this happen!

#5) Drunk Copters

Okay, so this isn't an invention that men are demanding as much as it is a service that we desperately need. So we've been doing this designated driver thing for like, I dunno, 15 years or something...whenever Mothers Against Drunk Driving first came out...and let's face it...there's a crucial flaw in the plan. One guy has to not drink!! So that's why us guys are demanding our own fleet of helicopters chartered to fly us around when we're drunk. Then EVERYONE can drink. Except the helicopter pilot, I guess. He better not drink.

#6) Spray-on Socks and Underwear

I can wear a pair of jeans at least ten days in a row without them starting to smell. And I've got like ten drawers filled with T-shirts I've picked up over the years. But I have to do the laundry once a week. Why? I keep running out of damn socks and underwear. That's why the next manvention on the list is Spray-on Socks and Underwear. Basically we'd need scientists to somehow fit a liquid-based cotton solution into an aerosol can that would become solid cotton once the solution hit the air. Science guys, try to fit five pairs per can...then we only need one can per week (hell yes I free ball barefoot on the weekends...you wanna start something?)

#7) The F-Chip

Here's a manvention any guy could get behind! The F-Chip is just like the V-Chip, but rather than blocking violent programming from your TV, it keeps all female programming, like "Sex and the City," "Gilmore Girls" and "Will and Grace," off the air and, in their place, programs old Super Bowls on loop. Not much else to say here other than, build this motherfucker NOW!

#8) Kitchen Swords

What separates a bachelor pad's "eating hole" from some pansy, girlie kitchen? Well, currently, the food items and not much else. But we propose to change that--with the manvention the Kitchen Sword. The Kitchen Sword is exactly what it sounds like...a sword, for use in the kitchen. Coming in all shapes and sizes (from the Butter Broadsword to the Salad Samurai Slicer), the Kitchen Sword is the manly, oversized version of the knife. It's invention would blast the act of cutting food into the next stratosphere. This one wouldn't be too hard to "invent," but I'm pretty sure swords are illegal without certain licenses and stuff, so most of the leg work would have to go to raising money for Kitchen Sword Lobbyists. But guys? It's worth it.

#9) Cold Distillery Backpack

Forget brown-bagging it. With the Cold Distillery Backpack, we're talking portable brewing here, baby! Since current methods of distilling spirits normally requires heat, there's a lot of scientific leg work to be done before these backpacks go on the market. First, the concept of Cold Distilling (making alcohol without heat) would have to be invented. But once we're set in that arena (and after years of perfecting), the Cold Distillery Backpack will become one of the most fantastic inventions ever dreamed of. Just throw the key ingredient into the top of the bag (be it hops for beer, sugar cane for rum or potatoes for vodka) and let the fascinating science of Cold Distilling work its yet-to-be-invented magic and viola! Out comes your own alcohol, straight out the bag's spout! Science dudes, be honest...how close are we to making this one happen? I don't want to give up the dream.

#10) Laser Guided Condoms

Remember when you saw "Terminator" as a kid and Arnie's laser-guided handgun was the most badass thing you ever saw? Well, your penis is about to get just as badass...with our final manvention, the Laser Guided Condom. The "practical" use of these puppies is for dead aim--so you NEVER miss with the lights out (you know, just in case you're prone to throwing your hot dog down the wrong hallway or something). But really, we want this because adding lasers to our wangs would be frickin' hilariously amazing. You could totally do light shows on the ceiling after she passes out from your love making session, not to mention if you slip one of these suckers on at work, secretly give the old woodpecker some air and start doing some classic laser-pointer gags during a company board meeting. No one would be the wiser! Ohh, I want these sooo bad. Scientissssts!!! Pleaaase!

And thus concludes the list of the ten inventions men demand. You disagree? Comment below, sucker. Ahh, the comments section, the last refuge of the serial-complainer. Definitely NOT a manvention.

Penis Myths Debunked

When it comes to penises, length matters more to men than to women, according to a new study that reviews more than 60 years of research and debunks numerous sex myths.

About 90 percent of women actually prefer a wide penis to a long one, according to two studies included in the review. Eighty-five percent of women reported being satisfied with their partner’s penis size, compared to only 55 percent for men.

The review, conducted by Drs. Kevan Wylie and Ian Eardley of the Porterback Clinic and Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and St. James’ Hospital in Leeds, United Kingdom, respectively, combines results from more than 50 international research projects into penis size and small penis syndrome (SPS) conducted since 1942.

“The issue of attractiveness to women is complex, but most data suggest that penile size is much lower down the list of priorities for women than such issues as a man’s personality and external grooming,” the researchers write.

Drawing upon the results of 12 relevant studies, the review, detailed in the British Journal of Urology (BJU) International, finds that the average erect penis is about 5.5 to 6.2 inches long and about 4.7 to 5.1 inches in circumference.

Penis myths

The findings also deflate a few other myths about male genitalia. The notion that penis size varies according to race, for example, is false.

Another oft-repeated myth is that older men tend to have smaller penises, but Wylie and Eardley found no differences when they combined the results of all the studies together.

One surprising finding was that small penis syndrome (SPS), also known as the “locker room syndrome,” is much more common in men with normal sized penises than those who have so-called micropensises (penises with a flaccid length of less than 2.7 inches). An internet survey of more than 52,000 heterosexual men found that 12 percent thought their penises were too small, even though micropenis is estimated to affect only about 0.6 percent of men.

One study suggests SPS often begin at an early age. Sixty-three percent of men with the disorder said their anxieties started with childhood comparisons, often to an elder sibling or their fathers, while 37 percent blamed erotic images viewed during their teenage years.

Be wary

The review also supports recent studies that find penis-enlarging vacuum devices, penis extenders and traction devices rarely live up to their promises, but can, in some cases, provide a “psychological uplifting effect.”

The authors take a wait-and-see approach to penis-enlargment surgery , which can include everything from partially separating ligaments in the penis so it hangs further from the body to injecting fat into the penis to increase its girth. One of the most extreme procedures involves completely splaying the penis and inserting a piece of cartilage into it before suturing it up again.

“While information is starting to emerge on the success of some surgical techniques, this is not backed up by data on patients’ satisfaction with such procedures,” Wylie said.

The doctors point out some ancient tried and true methods for penis enlargement, but these aren’t any more comfortable. Indian Sadhus men, for example, use weights to increase their penis length, while the Topamina of Brazil encourage poisonous snakes to bite their penises to get a size boost that lasts six months.

The researchers say their review is intended to “provide clinicians with an overarching summary of the many research projects that have been carried out into penile size and small penis syndrome” so that they can better treat the disorder.

When faced with a patient with SDS, “the initial approach should be a thorough urological, psychosexual, psychological and psychiatric assessment, possibly with more than one clinician involved,” they write.

Cheering ban costs five students their H.S. diplomas

• 5 Students are still awaiting receipt of their high school diplomas
• Students and their parents had to sign a contract promising to act dignified
• Violators of the contract were warned they could be denied their diplomas

GALESBURG, Illinois (AP) -- Caisha Gayles graduated with honors last month, but she is still waiting for her diploma. The reason: the whoops of joy from the audience as she crossed the stage.

Gayles was one of five students denied diplomas from the lone public high school in Galesburg after enthusiastic friends or family members cheered for them during commencement.

About a month before the May 27 ceremony, Galesburg High students and their parents had to sign a contract promising to act in dignified way. Violators were warned they could be denied their diplomas and barred from the after-graduation party.

Many schools across the country ask spectators to hold applause and cheers until the end of graduation. But few of them enforce the policy with what some in Galesburg say are strong-arm tactics.

"It was like one of the worst days of my life," said Gayles, who had a 3.4 grade-point average and officially graduated, but does not have the keepsake diploma to hang on her wall. "You walk across the stage and then you can't get your diploma because of other people cheering for you. It was devastating, actually."

School officials in Galesburg, a working-class town of 34,000 that is still reeling from the 2004 shutdown of a 1,600-employee refrigerator factory, said the get-tough policy followed a 2005 commencement where hoots, hollers and even air horns drowned out much of the ceremony and nearly touched off fights in the audience when the unruly were asked to quiet down.

"Lots of parents complained that they could not hear their own child's name called," said Joel Estes, Galesburg's assistant superintendent. "And I think that led us to saying we have to do something about this to restore some dignity and honor to the ceremony so that everyone can appreciate it and enjoy it."

In Indianapolis, public school officials this year started kicking out parents and relatives who cheer. At one school, the superintendent interrupted last month's graduation to order police to remove a woman from the gymnasium.

"It's an important, solemn occasion. There's plenty of time for celebration before and after," said Clarke Campbell, president of the Indianapolis school board.

In Galesburg, the issue has taken on added controversy with accusations that the students were targeted because of their race: four are black and one is Hispanic. Parents say cheers also erupted for white students, and none of them was denied a diploma.

Principal Tom Chiles said administrators who monitored the more than 2,000-seat auditorium reported only disruptions they considered "significant," and all turned in the same five names.

"Race had absolutely nothing to do with it whatsoever," Chiles said. "It is the amount of disruption at the time of the incident."

School officials said they will hear students and parents out if they appeal. Meanwhile, the school said the five students can still get their diplomas by completing eight hours of public service work, answering phones, sorting books or doing other chores for the district, situated about 150 miles southwest of Chicago.

Gayles' mother said she plans to fight the school board -- in court if necessary -- to get her daughter's diploma. The noise "was like three seconds. It was like, 'Yay,' and that was it," Carolyn Gayles said.

American Civil Liberties Union spokesman Edward Yohnka said Galesburg's policy raises no red flags as long as it is enforced equitably. "It's probably well within the school's ability to control the decorum at an event like this," he said.

Another student who was denied her diploma, Nadia Trent, said she will probably let the school keep it if her appeals fail.

"It's not fair. Somebody could not like me and just decide to yell to get me in trouble. I can't control everyone, just the ones I gave tickets to," Trent said.
